Case Study · Duct Cleaning
Two years of steady work, real customers, real reviews — and a website Google could not read. We rebuilt it around the places Clover actually serves, and the map followed.
These are strong results, and not what every business should expect. The honest version is at the bottom of this page.
Google Search Console, Monthly Average · Before Aug–Oct 2025, After May–Jul 2026 · Heatmap 8-Mile Radius, March 2026, Keyword “Commercial Duct Cleaning”
Monthly Google Impressions · Before And After
Clicks are plotted separately because impressions and clicks are different units. Both moved, and they moved by roughly the same multiple.
Local Map Grid · 39 Tracked Points
92% of the grid ranking well, and not one point failing to rank. That is the difference between owning a neighbourhood and covering a metro area.
Someone types “duct cleaning Surrey” and Google picks in a second. If your city pages are copies of each other, you have given it nothing to pick you for.
Clover Air Duct Cleaning is a woman-owned duct cleaning company in South Surrey, BC, serving Surrey, Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. Owner Pawan Dosanjh had built the business to two years of steady work, with customers and reviews behind her. She also knew the website was holding it back.
The copy was thin, and the service and city pages were near-duplicates of each other. Search engines had little reason to rank any single page for any specific place.
A duct cleaning search is local. Someone types “duct cleaning Surrey” or “dryer vent cleaning near me,” and Google decides who to show in about a second. Clover was in those results, but down near position 40, where almost nobody clicks.
We started over with a custom-designed website built for search and for the homeowner deciding who to trust with their home. Every service Clover offers got its own detailed page instead of a line in a list.
Air duct cleaning, AC coil cleaning, air quality testing, bathroom exhaust fans, dryer vents, deodorizing, duct disinfection, furnace and blower cleaning, post-renovation cleanup, UV purification, mould and odour removal — each one is a page a homeowner can land on, and a page Google can rank. Commercial and industrial each got the same treatment.
Then we rebuilt the messy city pages. Each one now speaks to a single place, with copy written for that city rather than copied across all of them.

Distinct local pages give Google a reason to rank you in more places, not one. By March 2026 a heatmap across an 8-mile radius showed the grid almost entirely green, with nothing failing to rank.

That green spread is the gap between ranking for one neighbourhood and ranking across a metro area, and it is the local search work we build toward for every contractor. On the separate “air duct cleaning” term, 74% of the same radius was ranking well.
Search visibility climbed once the new site had time to work.

Impressions matter only if they turn into work. Clover’s Google Business Profile tells that side of the story.

In June 2026 the profile drew 144 interactions and 47 phone calls, up 433% and 422% on the same month a year earlier. The review count grew from 73 at the start to 163, all at a 5.0 rating, and that reputation is a big part of why homeowners pick Clover off the map.
Year-over-year jumps this size reflect a growing business and seasonal demand alongside the rebuild, not the website alone.
A website can only do so much on its own. Clover’s results came from an owner who backed the rebuild with the right moves.
SEO takes time
Results usually take around six months to settle.
A rebuild compounds
The site keeps gaining over time, not overnight.
Local competition matters
A lower-competition term moves faster than a crowded one.
